I need some info from the experts. I have been asked by someone that has been diagnosed recently as a epileptic and flashing lights sets it off. Unfortunately she works as a "checkout chick" and the scanner is the culprit.
Does anyone know of a pair of glasses that can filter out the red light?

Did a bit of a search -
http://www.amazon.co.uk/MIGRALENS-BLOCKING-MIGRAINE-HEADACHE-GLASSES-Sport/dp/B00429C2RY may help. Not specific but you also need to be careful.

I do a lot of work place modifications for hearing impaired and as soon as you pace a barrier in workplace regarding disabilities some employers look very carefully. If at all possible do you research in stealth for a bit before placing the option in the workplace.

Also consider factors that may be influenced by using these glasses, eg: emergency activation warning lights and anything that an employer can take into their argument. Also use www.jobaccess.gov.au as much as possible if you equipment is going to cost a bit.

Maybe the manufacturer has alternatives

Your friend may find that an appropriate level of tegretol may be enough to turn her problem around for her. Her specialist is no doubt beating down that path with her now. Getting used to tegretol may be a completely other kettle of fish however.
