Stopped at a rest area on the cambridge pateau a few days back
pademelons everywhere . I guess not many people visit this np as they were very shy and all hopped away save this one .. this girls head was as big as a fist and the lump as big as a bag of spuds

When you look at the pic in Full Screen it looks mighty impressive :eyepop:
I wish I had seen it:thumbsup:
Graham could you give an estimate as to the size?
I understand it may be a little difficult to do that?

>>BIG<<

I think the snake was laying in a bit of a hollow Ron.
I've worked in the agricultural industry for 20 years or so and have seen a few pretty big specimans eating some big things ... this one is easily the biggest I've seen .. as for size ? .. yeah its hard to see by a photo
directly behind the head would likely need both hands maybe ?

As for the lump .. who knows .. maybe 120 mm at the widest
but its long also .. again I'm guessing but whatever is in there was quite large.

Nice capture, I love snakes, and that beautiful Coastal Python has definitely had a good breakfast. I think you are right about the two hands, you might even wish you had a third . I've got one as a pet that looks smaller than this one, and it is 7' long.

Magnificent creature! Last one I came across I picked up, had a chat and a tickle, then gently put it back. A beautiful experience! They are so gentle and deserve to be respected and treated with kindness.

Lovely picture of it too!
