Damn, beat me too it. I was driving around all today to see if i could find something, but no luck. So i was going to submit one of the bridge to the emperors palace that i took during a night visit lol.

I saw a doco on the Forth Bridge. It's been a bit like the Sydney Harbour Bridge - the paint if from end to end and then start again.

They were "sandblasting" it to remove the umpteen layers of paint and rust and then using a fancy new paint that would last 20+ yrs. Only problem was that they needed to HAND undercoat each rivet before they sprayed on the top coat. 8 million rivets...

Sorry about that. There are lots of bridges in Japan, but that's the only decent one I have.

Here's a few of my John West's.

The first two are Smake Valley Creek Rail Bridge, the third are the railway viaducts in Grafton and a couple of coat hangers.

Warren. "The Bridge That Was" - it's great love it - what's left! Truly a bridge of old - where'd it go?

They decided that since it kept flooding they would pull it down and leave the little bit on the other side for a fishing platform. It was built in 1937 and met its end last year. It's materials have been used to build the Catherine Freeman Walk

My father showed me the Avon as a child from a vantage point near Clifton Bridge. It even has its own website. Like it very much.

Some of my rejects. First pic is again of the Clifton Bridge, it definitely gives the impression of the damp nature of the area. The second pic is a quaint old bridge at Glen Moriston about half way along Loch Ness on the northern side, one of the many little streams flowing into the Loch. The third and fourth pics are bridges over the Seine in Paris.

This was and is a great photo subject so picking just one was difficult but I have included a closeup of the supports that were added in 1885 just to show the date.
I haven't been able to find the date of the original build of the bridge.
