Here is another rather large field captured with my FSQ106ED and my Atik 11002M camera.
I is a combination of 5 each LRGB at 5 min. I'm not 100% sure of the colour. It was hard to find an image to use as a reference image. I found so many colour variations I was lost in the end so here is the image I ended up with.

Nice one Doug, a Tak just doing it's job, well done mate.

OK you asked the question:scared3: - a tad too much magenta and blue, the blackpoint is clipped looking at how it rises sharply?
brilliant field of view and i love the framing:thumbsup:

I'd be very happy with that!
Lovely image Doug.

Looks pretty good to me Bert. I think you have the colour mostly right but the nebulas in the SMC look a bit too blue.

I'd have to disagree with David's assessment (sorry) PS does not show any clipping with good colour balance (maybe drop saturation a bit)

Thanks Leon. The Tak is a wonderful scope.
Thanks David, colour was my big concern but to be honest Photoshop doesn't looked clipped other than some of the border surrounding the image.
Thanks Darren, I am quite happy with the result but feel a bit more data would smooth it's background a bit.
Thanks Fred:P, yes I thought the blues seemed a bit rich but dropping much off seemed to render the image almost colourless. Still not sure.
Thanks Steve.

Thanks Trevor, My PS stats seem to be in line with yours, Maybe the 2 programs show it up slightly different.

you are quite correct there - its the difference between a dedicated astro imaging processing programme and a general image processing programme, even so if you look at 47tuc - you have a colour cast over it.

Nice widefiled shot!

Thanks Paul. Widefields are a pleasure to capture. Guiding is much easier but processing can be a bit of a pain with gradients an ever evident problem.

Looks pretty good Doug. Colour looks nice too.

Another corker Doug !!
Really like the colours and the composition. Thses widefiled images grab me big time ... they give me the feeling Im looking out my spaceshuttle window ... well the good ones do and this is amongst those.

Thanks Paul, hard to get the time for imaging lately with the short nights and damm work getting in the way. Need to retire I think, need tattslotto first.
Thanks Jeff. Wide fields with this scope camera combination are quite large and can be troublesome to process but when it all works it is real good.
Thanks Guy's

Nice one.
This object is definitely bluish in colour as are many galaxies. How much blue though is the million dollar question.

Thanks Greg, It is difficult to find some difinitive description of the colour for an object such as this. It becomes a bit of a balancing act between surrounding star colour and galaxy colour.

Nice image and FOV Doug. I can understand what you are saying with work, and finding the time for astro imaging. I want to retire too, but will not happen for atleast 10 years.
All the best.

Sorry for getting your name wrong in my first response Doug - must have had a senior moment <g>. I now think that your blue colour is pretty right but it seems you need H alpha with the SMC to get it perfect as this image by Tom Davis shows.
Cheers
