AS&T Binders

I wonder if IIS members have thought about binders for their AS&T magazines. Sky & Space binders were of exceptional quality when they were selling them (RIP) and would hold 12 issues comfortably. My local stationer sells "Marbig" binders which are lucky to hold 9 issues and are of pretty average quality. I recall asking Greg Bryant some years ago at a SPSP when AS&T were just publishing their first issue if he would look into the supply of the binders. I have rang every year since and the reply by the staff at AS&T has been that they are uneconomic to produce. Sky & Space sold them for around $18 to $19 plus $6 post from memory so at around an extra $2 per copy I thought it to be reasonable.

There is know doubt in my mind that the magazines are so much easier to store and read, particularly after a number of years, when they are stored in binders not to mention preserving them for the future.

I would be interested to know if other members feel the same way as I do and perhaps with the intention of approaching AS&T if a fair number of interested subscribers would make their production viable.

I have every issue of AS&T since its first published in Feb 2005. At the moment I put them upright in those plastic magazine holders. They are not ideal because they gather dust and each one is too big for 12( a year's ) issues so they kind of flop down and become out of shape. I am also looking for binders that are good value for money and readily available in the long term.
