Hi
I have a GSO 200mm f8 Ritchey Chretien scope. Is it practical to use a focal reducer with this type of scope that is normally supplied to suit SCT type scopes? If not, where is a good place to buy a suitable focal reducer? I am located in Sydney.
Cheers Peter

I am sure Astrotech in the US make a purpose built reducer/flattener for these scopes.

I've bought the Televue TRF-2008 to test with my GSO RC, but I'm yet to have the time or clear skies to test it. It shows promise with some users on cloudy nights.

That one has been removed from market as they had production issues. But they do make a flattener which is not a reducer that appears to perform well.

Okay thats a bit of a bummer. TS optiks in germany might have something useful. Check out the teleskop service here.

PS: the AP CCDT67 is for F9 and above scopes. I have one that I use on an F10 scope, have not tried below that though. Do you one of the first ones (F9) or the later F8 version?
