Went up the Valley for a Sunday drive today and I wanted to try some longer exposure in the daytime I have had little luck as I kept getting a white picture I knew it was possible so I tried the (S) setting and it worked learning all the time.

Looks like a pretty place, Warren. Lovely clear water. I like the last two pics better than the first two; I found the bridge a bit of a distraction. You have some decent motion blur happening. If you want to do longer exposures in the daylight you can try a neutral density filter.
Cheers,
Rick.

Thanks for that I was wondering if I needed a filter I will procure one because this is something I want to do. I have cropped the bridge out of the two you thought was distracting as I thought the sight of the far bank was good:thumbsup:. It is a great place to cool off in summer their are some good natural seats in some of the rock that are nice to sit in but only when there is no chance for flash flooding.

#3 is my favourite Warren. Like Rick says, a neutral density filter (and a tripod) is what you need for this sort of location. I'd recommend an ND8, which is equivalent to 3 extra stops.
Cheers,
Stephen

Hi Liz
I have marked on this copy of number 3 a great place to sit and enjoy the water it is like a two seater couch very nice in summer but not if you have a lot of rain around of course:thumbsup:
