I recently bought a pair of 8x40 Pentax PCF WII. I compared the views through the 8x40 PCF WII to those of 10x50 PCF and WO 8x42 Semi Apo roofs (now sold). Ther views between the three were very similar. I found that I preferred to use the 8x40 PCF mounted on a light camera mount, my other (heavier) Andrews 15x70 Mil. Spec. on a parallelogram mount and a shortened 120ST F5 refractor with a binoviewer. As a results of this I decided to sell both the 10x50 PCF and the WO 8x42 Semi Apos (now sold) and replace them with a Pentax 12x50PCF WII and a smaller and lighter 8x25 reverse porro.

1. Pentax 10x50 PCF WII.
This was my first ever 10x50 bino and I have been very happy with it. It is a porro design, 20mm eye relief with 5 degrees field of view. I like the star images it produces, the distortion free field of view, the long eye relief and the locking focus. There are numerous reports and tests on this model on CN. The photos below show the general conditions of the bino. There are not any scratches on marks on the optics. You can see a white marks near the focuser and near the right eyepiece diopter. These are liquidpaper marks I placed for quick adjustment for night sky observing. You will also notice that I cut two rings of felt with self adhesive back and stuck them behind the eyepieces so that I do not scratch my eyeglasses.

Price for this bino is $210.00 inclusive of packaging and delivery via registered Australia Post.THIS PRICE IS FIRM. Note that this model is currently retailing for $299.00 at Bintel.
