My NYE is pretty much over. Watched the 9:00PM Kids fireworks but expect I'll be in bed before the midnight session.
Tomorrow means getting back to eating properly rather than excessively :D
Enjoy the rest of the year.

My kids are inside watching movies, and I'm outside at the scope.
What a way to end the year!!
It's very mild tonight, with a bit of a breeze, gusty at times. So I've got the Nifty 50 on the Canon riding piggy back.
On to my second target of the night.
Happy New Year!!

Missed it entirely!!!
I'm more of a spring solstice guy m'self anyway.
Clear as I've seen all year here:2thumbs:, plus warm and calm to boot.
Couldn't pass up the opportunity for a good look-see!(anyway Carron was asleep at 10:30 following an afternoon of "refreshments" with some work colleagues :D).
Here's hoping its an omen for a great 2011 after a truly dismal 2010.
Happy new year all.

As predicted the easterly started to blow so imaging was out got frustrated with Alignmaster the EQ6 is a bugger to adjust when loaded gave up in the end reset my ALT manually and used Stellarium to align my scope so eventually got my goto working spot on with Stellarium(scope) every target nearly dead center spent an hour cluster jumping with a 35mm 2" EP on my ED80, haven't done visual work for yonks was a pleasant change

IN Mildura it got to 36 degrees at 1am according to the BOM.

I gave up to about 11:00pm wind too strong and scope only managed a single shot of M42 and a couple of Jupiter shots still processing ATM, Everything blew all over the place.
Happy new year :)

Spent all day starring at weather and wind reports hoping the gale winds would die down so I could have a nice long viewing session but no such luck.
Here's hoping for plenty of still and clear nights in 2011 for all!!

Watched and giggled through 'The Hangover' early, then, armed with champers, it was down with the neighbours for BIG bonny on the beach, and a few firecrackers. :help:
Cloudy with a little shower of rain to cool us down, then to bed,a sleep by 1030. :D
Happy New year ... one and all.

Partying last night under the skies. Beautiful night, good company, plenty of home made BBQ pizzas and fresh drinks. Will probably image tonight if the weather holds. :thumbsup:Then we started the sparkles and kids had a ball blowing stuff.

Certainly was blowing around a lot. Still though, feels good to get some pics rather than no pics :)
I set up the scope at 5pm-ish, aligned on jupiter and left it running for the night. Had a few family members over for dinner. Was all very nice.
I went out to check on the scope before going to bed at 1am-ish. Boy was the wind blowing around! I heard a brach fall while outside, and I hadn't timed the photographic targets quite right so most were behind trees and hence being skipped (I'm currently imaging through a narrow gap to the north) so considering the risk of debris and low rate of successful pics (15 new objects) I packed it up for the night. Was a good choice, meant I could sleep in until 8:30 without worrying about the sun gettting on the scope.
I am enjoying the clear nights we're having, just a shame about that easterly.
