Here is an image of M45. I'm not really happy with the image as it was a compilation of 3 each LRGB at 10 minutes each. It was suppose to be quite a few more exposures but high cloud came in after the first couple of exposures and I didn't notice it until it got a bit thicker and blotched all the stars in one frame.

Having been starved of imaging time I decided to make the best of the data I had got and this is the result.

Camera: Atik 11002M
Filters: Baader LRGB
Scope: Takahashi FSQ106ED at f5

I see what you mean about that diffraction spike Doug, nice image all the same though, I certainly would be happy with that.

Thanks Guy's. The spike Peter is talking about is on the center star and is present on each and every sub.

Hi Doug, nice short sharp image, taking advantage of what the weather threw at you.
In this time of fickleness, we take what we can get !

You've managed to start resolving the emission from the Merope area and I'm liking the results the new Baader filters are doing in the way of colour representation.
With their more over lapping wave lengths, the reds seem more red and the blues seem deeper.
That's what I can surmise from others I know that are using them and in comparison to the Astronomiks.

All in all, a pleasing result with your nice setup.

All the best
Rich

Wonderful start Doug, Yeah the weather is really not playing the game at all, clear blue and sunny days, light wispy clouds at night, normally just after I get everything ready to go.

I'm a little confused at a single diffraction spike? Any idea, why the star and none of the others?

Thanks Rich, Gotta make hay while the clouds gone.

Thanks Darren, Confused me to. Hopefully the weather is getting better but the heat is going to be unbearable now. I suppose I'm never happy.
