Hi All,

Got home from a meeting tonight at around 10pm. Set up the scope and iteratively polar aligned three times. Selected the comet and there it was in the eyepiece. Got the DSI-pro out and whacked it in at prime focus. Had to do some experimenting with the exposure times, finally settled on 60 second exposures. Got 30 mins of Luminance in before she went below the horizon. Just took the combined shot out and tweaked it with levels and curves in photoshop. If I can get Registax to work on my PC again, I'll work on a video as well.

Nice! :) There arn't enough comet pics here, its a shame cause they are quite lovely. I love the way the stars are always streaked, shows the movement.

:prey2: :prey2: man there is some nice stuff comin late tonight, i dont think ive seen that done so well with one of those gizmos EDIT: (especially on such a relatively dim comet ) extremely well done, thanks for posting mate.
very nice central core there too, well it might be a nice little comet after all?, there are many people around the world would love to see pics and hear about this comet! :-) it is causing some debate/interest in some circles ;)

Yeah the wedge is great, originally I had planned to go permanent, but have to wait for the garage to be built (actually it's still in the notional stage), so I'm getting used to polar aligning every night. Of course I could have done this in Alt/Az, though the field rotation would have been evident in the background, now I just have a linear drift!
