Hey, I'm new to Astronomy and I've been reading about how it's good to join a society or club if you are an amateur. I live on the Central Coast and I haven't come across any clubs or societies around my area. I am only 13 and am unable to get transport to destinations such as newcastle, etc. I might seem young, but I only wish to begin my practice early, so I can make a career out of this extraordinary subject when I'm older. If you know any societies or clubs on the central coast that I have missed, listing would be appreciated.:help:
Thankyou

Welcome Kayla! Not sure which astro clubs you've missed but here are a couple of links I found:
http://www.quasarastronomy.com.au/society.htm
http://www.astronomy.org.au/ngn/engine.php?SID=1000022&AID=100136
Hope you find something. Enjoy!

Hi Kayla
:welcome: to IceInSpace!
There's no clubs on the central coast, but there's a group of people that meet up at the Mangrove Mountain pony club each new moon.
Check the 'star parties' forum for threads with "pony club" in the subject.
I believe the next meet is next Saturday night, 1st Jan.
I hope you can get there!
