Hello,
Despite the dreary, monotonous rain and drab, grey skies, this little fella managed to bring some much needed colour to our soggy back yard.:)
The expression was a yawn rather than a screech as this cheerful character perched on our hills hoist. The lighting was very dull and flat (raining) requiring me to pump the colours a little which in turn needed some heavy noise reduction on the monotone background.
Cheers

Nice shot Dennis! I'm about to post some lorikeet portraits as well. Like you said, there hasn't been much else to photograph recently has there...

You should be in Geelong. Nigh impossible. Birds in flight are the next most challenging thing, along with Macro's.
Nice shot Dennis.
Another stunning image Dennis!!!
I have many great lorikeet pics, they are soooo photogenic with their brilliant colours, but also keep still, right in front of you.
This image beats my selection, hands down.
Beautiful Dennis, nice and crisp, and so much colour, well done indeed.

Thanks!:)
This cute bird certainly brought a smile to our faces with its comical expression. I’ve noticed that I often experience uncertainty or difficulty in getting reliable focus on Lorikeets when I focus on their heads. The blue feather details never seem really sharp or crisp. However, when I select an AF point on their wing, the (green) feathers really seem to pop!
I wonder if this has something to do with blue vs. green sensitivity of the pixels in the Bayer Matrix or maybe the contrast profile of blue feathers are different to green ones?
I hope I didn’t scorch your eyebrows or singe your monitor with the enhanced colour saturation!;)
Cheers
