Can someone please turn the fusion down a bit at Sol as it a tad warm here.:D

45C here and it still going up, was supposed to be only 40. They always get the temps wrong here constantly out by 2-3 degrees, but 5! (so far) sheesh.

That's even too hot, even for me, and I love the warm. You could move down to Tassie where it never gets that hot and dark skies are 15 mins from the city. You a walk-in fridge for days like that..
Hang in there.

Send it here. I'm freezing to death atm under deplorable overcast skies drizzle and 17C temps. Feels exactly like a mid-july day. Summer has yet to show itself here... SE Australia has been stuck in that walk-in fridge all "summer" so far...

what town do you live in?

Or Portland in SW Victoria - very cold place and last summer was cooler than Hobart! I was there for a week in Jan 2008, the temp never got above 20C, and going by the obs in any given summer month, it's not hard to achieve such a cold spell.

We have the worst summer that I can remember cold and cloudy pretty everyday. Just had a look at Portland on google earth, might be cold, but there would be little chance of any light pollution there..

I feel your pain...

We've been locked in all day playing "Killer Bunnies" and drinking beer...

That pretty much applies to anywhere in SE Aus this month. Absolutely shocking. Even places like Nullabour and Ceduna barely cracked 20C today.

Hopefully January will bring on some summer weather, but going by the running theme of this year, I'm not holding my breath

The Southern Oscillation Index indicates 3 months more rain for the eastern states at least :(

no sweating here.....another glorious mid-winter day that barely scraped 18C after a 9C night. Pretty much the same garbage from Sydney to the western Australian border. Temps inland are running up to 5C below average for the month aswell. Gonna be only one 36C day (my parents just about collapsed in horror when they saw that one 36C day forecast on the news) LOL then back to low 20's days and nights around 10C.

Thermometer on my back porch is reading 7°C atm, sky crystal clear.... should be out there observing the 3rd quarter moon, but with 6 bourbons in the fuel tank..not gonna happen lol

Lots of sunshine in the forecast though, and clear atm :) The cold southerlies could make for some transparent skies this week and no bird-sized mosquitos :D as they say, a silver lining to every cloud

Send a little of that heat this way please...

Currently in a "blizzard" temperature is -8 C and we've got more than 12 inches of snow and lots of wind...snow has dirfted everywhere and we can't get out of the house without a shovel.

Guess we'll be staying inside all day today until storm passes...

* Official snow depth 15 inches from the weather service...

I'd gladly send you some heat in exchange for some snow, Scott!

Its about now that I start counting how many weeks it is to the end of March and the cooler Autumn weather.

I'll help pay for shipping charges!

I just finished digging us out so we can make it to town if need be.

Snow drifts were over waist deep along the garage and front door...I've not worked that hard in a long time!

For all the folks freezing here is some heat for ya:D

This is what the forecast is for the next 7 Days here...well six months really :)

Oh and ignore the 'possible shower' that is just not going to happen! The only rain we will see in 6 months is the dreaded annoying dew curse.

You would think this would be great for lots of astro viewing right? I wish! The nights are almost always around 20-25C +, 90-100% humidity, 30-40km winds, cloudy and tons of dew...Great:(

Bring on autumn
