This morning I was out imaging Sol early because the ISS was supposed to transit the sun according to Calsky. I was a fair way off the center line but it kept saying I was going to see it. Well that did not happen alas.

Despite not seeing the ISS this morning I did get some reasonable Ha data. I normally image at much higher resolutions and this does affect the way that I process that data. So capturing at this lower resolution requires not only slightly different etalon settings it also requires a different image processing routine.

Hopefully by the time the cycle really starts hitting top I will have this all sorted.

Thanks Al. That central active regions is growing fairly rapidly and might produce some ncie fire works in the next week. The plague on the eastern limb is really nice looking and obviously the left overs from a previous active region.

This activity is better than 12months ago by a long shot but I would like to see a much larger active zone now.

What causes the uneven illumination? Bright spot in the middle left and dark bottom left.

Mike that would be the etalon settings. Similar issues to the PST only not as bad. I think this is why they eventually went to an internal moving etalon for the 60mm as well.

Very nice result Paul, super crisp detailed image, love the granulation and nice prom on the limb.
