While putting together my big scope-little scope comparisons album recently I had another go at processing my deep Cen A (nooo I'm kidding right? :scared:) to better reveal the complex shells inside the galaxy halo so it would better match the Blanco 4m image. It took some complex contrast, curves and shadow highlight blending work but I gott'em

It's the lower left image added here (http://www.pbase.com/strongmanmike2002/image/108349883/original)

Actually once you have identified them in the contrast enhanced view you will now see that they are visible in this more natural view (http://www.pbase.com/strongmanmike2002/image/108205041/original)too all be they more subtle.

Amazing galaxy that

Thats impressive, all the shells are certainly visible in yours, never thought CenA had this much going on so wide.

Really amazing, the halo is impressive but the picture is "natural" as well.
It seems saturn....
