Hi all,

Some great eclipse photo posted already! Well done everyone.

I decided to head up Mt Coot-tha (with about 1000 other people :eyepop:) to get some shots. Unfortunately there was a thick cloud band that obscured totality and about the first 10 degrees of altitude. I still got a few shots through the cloud though.

All taken with the 50D and 70-200 f/4L USM (which only arrived yesterday!)

Thanks for looking!

Cheers,
Stephen

Nice shots under adverse conditions, Stephen. I was going to drive up to Mt Coot-tha but the cloudy skies put me off...

Cheers,
Rick.

Glad you made the effort to get up there!
Even through the cloud it was a beautiful sight.

I think clouds like that and the moon go quite well together. 1st and 4th are my favourites.

Well done Stephen,

The clouds provide such a lovely effect, a nice record of the event.

Cool shots Stephen. Where were you? A mate and I were against the railing just near where the railing went straight.

It was so long that I have set up the scope that I forgot how to operate it... really. I couldn't work out why the scope wouldn't goto properly... pole to the south, etc... must remember to point the TUBE to the south as well... goose! :confuse3::confuse2:

Thanks Trevor. I would have preferred no clouds (I'd planned to take a series of images 5 minutes apart and then stack them), but they did add an interesting effect.

Thanks Tony. I only arrived at about 6:35, but managed to get a spot up the top near the littly lookout/rotunda thing. And yes, I understand what you mean about forgetting how to set up the scope. I can't remember the last time I got the scope out!

Cheers,
Stephen
