I have been imaging now for about 5 years. So I have accumulated various images of the Horsehead.

All beautiful images Greg! I think I may try it for my next image. I started a few images a few months ago, but due to continuing bad weather I'll now have to wait till next year to complete them. Hopefully I can still remember what little processing that I have learnt to do so far!!

Imaging time has been pretty rare hasn't it? It seems it is mostly clear when it is during the full moon period and has been that way for 6 months or more now.

Excellent horseheads there Greg, and interesting comparisons between rigs. What concerns me greatly tho, is the TEC180 ML8300 pic seems better than the CDK17/16803 pic. Given the former is only an inferior refract.....refractor (cough), whats up there?. Luckily, the wide feild AP140 pic is no where near the mark (zoomed in).

Thanks. I like the TEC180 one as well. It though, is 19 hours so that has a lot to do with it.

Great set Greg. The Blue Horsehead looks very good. Think I might try for this when Scorpio comes round next year. Love the closeup too, sharp and smooth Makes all the difference when you have that sort of focal length to play with. :thumbsup:

Lovely collection of horses Greg. Each has it's own elements which have me going back to them. Nice idea showing the same target in a multitude of focal lengths.

Thanks Dougie. I've been imaging the Horsehead now for several years so these are the ones I am happy with. I did one recently with the TEC180 and Tak reducer giving F5.25 but there is too much coma in the corners so strictly back to using the field flattener only with that. Perhaps the Tak super reducer may work or the Tak 67 reducer. Not to worry, the AP140 has a beautiful AP reducer that is awesome.
