Just purchased a Super wedge for my LX200 10" from another member on this site. I live in Adelaide so I will need to set my scope at 25deg. I have noticed settings on the side of the scope that I wold assume are the settings I need to set the wedge too. however if I put a Protractor on the scope platten it tells me a far different angle. Should I be then setting the scale to about 54degs? Some help here would be great as I am having some sort of Grey moment and it's not adding up for me..

Mardy the angle you need for Adelaide is 35 degrees not 25. You need to set it to 35 degrees.

Thanks Paul.. Typo I should have typed 35. Not sure why I get a diff reading when I place an electronic protractor on the mount plate, but if it's 35 I set on the wedge scale I will do just that. Thanks for your help, this forum is a great help..

Mardy I reckon you cannot go past the Wixy tool. It is used for testing angles especially with circular saws, but they work really well for setting angles on scopes.

Buy one of these and you will never have to do the eastern star again. The units are that accurate.

Yep... that’s pretty much what I have... Yep it was a grey moment... Yep I've got it sorted.. My little unit has toooo many options and I had it on the wrong setting... Dough!! Yep it now conforms to the scale on the Wedge.. So you did help after all by guiding my brain cells back in an order by your simple suggestions it’s like subliminal suggestion via a forum... The power of the Ice in space Forum. The first night in seems like 10 years that has no cloud at this stage. It will be my first try at doing some PEC Training before using the Wedge.
