I guess it is a safe bet that one will not be available for Santa to bring me one for Christmas. I will have to wait until next year...:P

wonder what its true price will be landed in Aus - by the time you get weights, cables etc and then pay the import duty and tax.......

That looks fantastic. What a mount.
Very tempting. Perhaps an upgrade from my Tak NJP?

Greg.

The MKS 5000 controller sounds good, it does the same as the 4000 and more, so ittle just work. Thats a bonus over the the fancy vapour ware around these days.

Weights and software supplied, with current exchange rate you are looking at $10500 landed in OZ. That includes shipping and GST.
No import duty on these babies just GST.....

I wouldn't be jumping to too many conclusions about an actual product release or getting your hopes up high.

This is the same as the press release word for word from Oct/Nov 2009 at AIC when they first announced it.
No detailed specifications yet - slew rates, PE etc

Even the promo picture is still just a rendered 3D CAD model !

If there were actual finished design prototypes we would be seeing actual pictures of them and maybe some useful information instead of hype.
Software Bisque would have more info available and their forum would be full of posts about the MX (which it isn't).

So I am guessing they are still at least 6 months away from delivering them, maybe 12 months or a lot more before normal retail customers get them.

As much as I would like to see them released, I suspect the Chinese and everyone else will beat them to the market !
So dont go making any decisions based on its imminent arrival !

Were currently working out the details on importing the MX into Australia for those interested at much better rates than whats been advertised.
Will post details here if theres enough interest.

They're not just rendered 3D CAD models. I held one in my hands (minus the MKS-5000 which wasn't installed) and played around with it a little bit back in September 2010. Though it's certainly not any sort of great innovation, I do like it. I have no idea what the delay is.

http://www.bisque.com/sc/shops/store/MXDeposit.aspx Which is the order page that says in part: "The Paramount MX will begin shipping in the second quarter of 2011. Place your deposit today to own this incredible new German equatorial mount!" $4000.00 (I gather that is the deposit amount), quite a bit more than the usual and customary 10% sort of deposit there...
