Hi all
Finally I got an opportunity to catch some photons last night. With it not getting dark till quite late only got an hours worth.

NGC 986. 6x10 mins ISO200. UV/IR filter. Hutech Modded 350D. 10 inch f5.6 newtonian. Off axis hand guided. Was a bit windy, was surprised there wasnt more guide error as the guide star jumped around from time to time. Ambient temp 23 degrees. Sky fairly dark for Newcastle.

Lovely shot Scott, especially considering it's only an hour's worth, the ambient temp and battling wind.
You still amaze me by handguiding.

Well done.

Andrew

Lucky there was a break in the weather, skill in the capture though. Great image...

Thanks Scott. That is the first IIS image of NGC 986 and it gives the visual observer a good guide.

Nice image Scott, sweet little galaxy. Haven't seen clear skies down here for what seems like months.
