As usual, one entry per person and the image must be your own work.
Normal forum rules and image size applies.

The image doesn't necessarily have to have been taken this month but we do encourage you to go out and enjoy the challenge.

The winner of the poll, which will be run at the end of the month, will get to choose next month's topic.

Thought I would get in early with this effort, although the macro gurus will blow it out of the sky.

Masses of bees, bugs and flies are all over the Lemon Scented Myrtle, and as there was some sort of non-artificial light source outside today, I took a few (dozen) snaps. Flying creatures and mad imagers weren't the only ones out today. On the flower you can see a little arachnid looking for a snack.

I should point out that the image was taken with 18-55 kit lens on our 400D, cropped approximately 50%

I still have another idea for the challenge so this might be on the reject pile yet.

While I think this image fits the intended theme for this month's challenge, it certainly wasn't taken in a cold and frosty location, rather at Seaworld...

When I saw this topic, I thought I would take this one literally.

I dug out my prized old watch (which doesn't go anymore) and layer-by-layer, froze it over 3 days, placing the next bit of the insides of it on top of the last frozen layer.

Lots of experimenting in a dark hallway with lighting later, I got one I am pretty stoked with. It was different, and it was a lot of fun!

Well this has been a bit harder than first thought and still I didn't get the shot I really wanted but was happy with this one after many John West shots. Some were quite interseting though.

It certainly has captured many peoples' attention recently,and my finance's

This is my first ever go at fast flash photography, and I have got to say I had a ball learning something new!:D

I have a heap of possible entries, and can't decide:lol:... so this is my interim entry. If I find John West has made a mistake I'll swap it.

Olympus E510, FL50 flash, tripod, kitchen sink, dripping tap, plug in hole, no cable release, auto focus, 100ASA, 1/30 sec, f/5.6, 12-60 zoom at 56mm, manual flash on GN9.5. I did heaps later with cable release and manual focus... great fun:thumbsup:.

Around this time of the year one of our Eucalypts with the common name of "Little Snowmen" flowers up with a great display.

It becomes a source of fascination and food to hundreds of Butterflys and makes for a great sight.

I have finally got one I could choose for this month it was hard to narrow down to one I probably took over 1500 photo's. I may change as I am still taking photo's but I reckon this will be the final selection for this month unless I really pull a rabbit out of the hat.:thumbsup:

Here is my entry taken in November 2010.

Canon EOS 40D 17-85mm lens at 56mm, f/5.6, 1/80th second exposure at ISO 800. Slight crop from the original.

Ah well.. I've nothing to add other than this one. It was taken off a beach near Thirroul, NSW. It's one of the first images I took on the day Humayun and I went to DDP pick up my 5D Mk-II and his 70-200 2.8L. It was nearly dark (at the end of dusk) and it was raining. Top way to treat new camera gear - but hey - having Humayun there was a great way to start learning the new camera:)

Canon 5D Mark-II, EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM @32mm, ISO800 1/8th sec at f/6.
