Hi All,

The weather is still very unsettled here in the OZ outback but I was able to image the Western extension of the SEB revival just after twilight. Have attached 1 RGB & 807nm IR data set in reasonable seeing plus another IR image from 30 mins later.

I note that over the previous several months, in hi res images, there has been a quite distinctive herringbone pattern in the SEB and it seems from these images that the SEB revival is following this pattern with spots occurring within this feature.

Nice image Trevor. I was imaging at the same time and saw this area myself. Seeing here was ok at first but got progressively worse with flag waving styles. It was a shame as the detail was visible but I could not process the data.

Yes the scalloping does seem to create the wells for the reviving SEB. Interesting stuff really.

Thanks Paul, the seeing here through twilight looked reasonable and improved for about half an hour but then deteriorated, not to the degree where it looked flag like but enough to take out the fine detail that I was trying to capture. With the current weather systems in the region I really didn't expect much and was lucky to to get one reasonable RGB.

In the wash up of the analysis of this SEB revival it will be interesting to see if there can be some scientific connection drawn between the westward retrograding progress of the SEB(S) spots and this pre existing pattern that they seem to be following.

Great images Trevor. The patches look like links in a chain. Like a chain of volcanos. Maybe a 'hot' spot underneath breaking through as the SEB moves across?

Thanks Rob, reckon I was lucky to get one nice data set in this weather.

Thanks Ray, certainly great to be watching this unfold, a first for me with a SEB or NEB revival.

Thanks Steve, looking forward to becoming reacquainted with Saturn imminently.

Thanks Michaell, it does seem more than coincidence and it will be interesting to see what the planetary scientists make of it. Interesting times for sure.

Excellent work as always, Trevor. The SEB is really really big now. I can perfectly distinguish it with my 76mm scope now.
Looking forward to more images.

Cheers, Luis.

Thanks for your comment Lester.

Thanks Jennifer, stay tuned to the BAA Jupiter section reports for a blow by blow of this event as it unfolds.

Thanks very much Bob, hopefully the SEB will have reformed completely before we lose it to the Sun.

Thanks very much Luis, I am very pleased that you are able to follow this with your scope.
