Actually, this little fella is tiny!

Anyone know the species?

Baz.

Cute! Suspect it's some kind of orb weaver, but nothing more specific than that.

Yep, certainly the way it is sitting is typical of an orb weaver. The orb weavers seem to be smaller this time of year. Normally they come in a drab grey, but occasionally an orange or a green.

It's that time of the year the orb weavers come out to play. I found that out on Monday night, putting out the rubbish bin. I knew it was summer when I felt that sticky silk wrap around my face and eight panicking legs dancing around my head. This was of course followed by my first head banging, face slapping dance of the summer. Hope the neighbours weren't watching!

Sorry Jen! You'll be pleased to know she's alive and well hiding from the sun under the eaves. I'm sure in an hour or two she'll be spinning another web.

Yes Baz, pulling web out of my hair for a while. :P Forgot to mention, I love the side on photo, and her tiny eye peering out from between her front legs.

Hi Jennifer, out my way that is little. the beggars out here have better tattoos than me.

I dont bother with those little spider catchers on a stick, netting and a tranquiliser gun has more effect. ;)

Cheers

A bit of napalm will singe its legs hairs a bit - easier to wrestle to the ground and hog tie then.
MIB never had this problem..
