We had a bit of that in Sydney west last month. No big chunks though but enough to make a rucus. I hate hail.

Eric, ya very rarely get hail in the tropics, it has turned to large rain drops by the time it gets to ground level. I lived in Darwin for 12 years, never saw a single hailstone, but saw some whopper thunderstorms.

I hear you! I live right behind you up in the mountains and it has been misty rain for weeks! It was 28 degrees during the day and now it's 20 degrees. It feels like June...

died in the A faster than you can say "naturally" but atleast we got a nice belting earlier around 3.30pm. Nice lightning and seriously heavy rain and some fantastic cloud structure. Bit of fun, but am aching for some night time lightning.
I'm hedging my life on it that it'll happen tomorrow night when I'm at work.

I had!!!! plans on meeting up with a friend to check out his binos and scope but the storm stopped that idea.
That was a very impressive storm.
I guess this is what happens when people buy and sell Paramount MEs etc on IceInSpace.

I have my eyes on a new toy, could this be the pre-purchase appetiser?
If my understanding is correct, excremento weather is 'sposed to occur after the purchase, not before.

The dodgy Melb weather is affected by Astro purchases before during and after LOL

The Shepparton area seems to get blasted by massive storms very often lately. Even now, storms going off up there.
Wouldn't have anything to do with SDM being headquartered there......the source of many a astro-related purchase

Yee-haaaa!!!
The 3pm storm that came through here was excellent!!!
Not good about the damaging wind, and MORE floods caused, but the lightning & thunder was great
I was driving in some of it :driving:
Also had some fantastic Cloud formations

FULL BLOWN CLEAR SKIES in Melbourne atm, never would'a thunk it with the usual Melbourne storms and cloud earlier on.
Transparency is amazing, no doubt due to the huge downpours clearing the air of all particulate matter.

Was enrolling at uni today, but luckily made it out of the city before the real big stuff hit. Train left flinders at 2pm and to the north it was basically armageddon.
On the train home on the Pakenham line I could see the most unbelievable jet-black cloud towards Melbourne CBD I've ever seen. I got off the train at Berwick at 3pm, it was hot, humid and those massive storms with their near-jet black cloud formations were closing in at amazing speed. Awesome experience. Then it just went AWOL. It just started belting down like hell and the lightning/thunder went ballistic.

Then after the rain, that blissful few minutes where the temp and humidity have fallen to perfect levels. Then the humidity soars again and you're soaking with sweat!
