Our event certainly went well, despite showers and storms in the area, about 50 people turned out to see what we had on offer.
The telescopes section was well set up with a wide varity of scopes from a 70mm Aust Geo. refractor through to a 12" dob, lots of questions were asked which were handled by our keen members Notch, Bruce, Graeme & Lance.
Lots of astronomy goodies (charts, books etc) were snapped up by the curious stargazers, with the ranks of the club swelling by the end of the evening with several new members joining up.
A great Art & craft section was put together for the kids by our talented Club public officer & photographer Alicia with the able help of her two wonderful daughters Nicky & Terry.
The doorprize of a years Subscription to AS&T (thanks to Greg Bryant) was drawn just prior to the highlight of the night ..... a viewing of the excellent DVD "15 years of Hubble", again thanks to AS&T & the ESA.
The following photos show some of those hungry for astronoimical knowledge, who made the effort to come out on this wet, wet night.
Who says you cant do astronomy in the wet season! ;)

Great turn out Ian....you must be happy with 50 people considering the weather.

I cant see your little hand held Reflector...you know the little red beast.

Yes Tony we certainly were happy with the roll up.
Yes, the little "Astrobong" was there in all its glory
If you have ever taken one of these as hand luggage through security, you would understand where the "Astrobong" name comes from

Hey Ian, I've just realised, it hasn't stopped raining since the night, coincidence??? :confuse3: :confuse3: Or is it because we assembled the scope for Cam Mc??

Dam shame we didn't have something to put in the "Astrobong" seeing as it was raining.
We may have seen some stars. :)
