This new book by Roger Dymock has just been released (got my copy in the post on Saturday). Its a good all round reference and introduction into most facets of observing these objects from Visual to CCD (and DSLR), Astrometry to Photometry and Occultations. If you want an all in one, up to date, general reference/guide on this topic then this book is a good buy.

Hi David,
I think this will be a good addition for me, i'll definitely have to get it!

I have Robert K Buchheim's "The Sky is your Laboratory" also from Springer and it's a fantastic read as well and covers many amateur astro science disciplines.

I'm really keen to do some light curve work, but the weather has been just ...

Hi AstroJunk, do you think we could get it cheaper buying 2 copies? Seeing as though we've got plenty of time to read lately!

Thanks for the heads up Dave

It looks like a very interesting book and as suggested we have plenty of reading time at the moment.
