Always did like these trees H nice job, you are a busy guy always out with the camera I am getting out with the camera more as the hook gets stuck deeper. A friend is lending me his "old" DSLR a Nikon (I think he has quite a few cameras) on monday so I will be out even more and posting more experiments. I am well and truely hooked:thumbsup::help:

I like it. Variety of textures, great color variations, even depth of field. there's a bit for everyone in there. :thumbsup:

I like it and I find compositions of this type interesting. The tree focus is slightly soft but this treatment works well here. It gives a "painting" and depth effect which works. Was not sure if I liked the flowers in front of the tree trunk but hey - thats what makes this shot a bit different and for me it does add a spark of interest. Well done.

Certainly does have a painting kind of feel, but don't think it's the tree focus being off. I get the impression it was intentional. I love the light, the colours, the feel of the image, just not sure about the crop. I want to see more. :)

With the atrocious weather of late, astrophotography has been out of the question. The last image I took was in August, I think. It's driving me nuts having all this new high-end gear and no chance to use it. It's sitting there depreciating in value. Oh, well.

I guess the upshot of all the cloud and rain is that we're getting some darn nice sunsets.

Hope you get a chance to use the DSLR. It'll be a big step up from any old point-and-shoot systems you've been using.

I can guarantee the tree is sharp. It had just stopped raining and I had my circular polariser in my pocket. It was actually getting quite dark and so I just slipped the filter on without looking at it. It was quite fogged up. It's helped to diffuse the scene somewhat.

Thanks, mate. I'd have included more, but, there was nothing else of interest in the immediate area. Would have completely killed the composition altogether.

Nope :( I cancelled the order of the ones that were holding things up. I've order Hitech ones instead, 3 stop hard GND and a 3 stop reverse GND. I did get a Lee 2 stop soft GND. Seems to be a world-wide shortage of Lee filters.

Yeah, I've read the same on other forums. Buying from the UK seems to be the way to go at the moment, for Lee stuff.

I've got a 2-stop soft/hard set on the way. I'm finding the 3-stop a bit overbearing for what I'm doing nowadays.
