My "first" attempt

Ok, So Ive had my new meade lx90 10" out a grand total of 5 times, on the 4th time i took a few piccies.. (and wish I hadnt. they turned out terrible..and I missed all the good "viewing" by fussing around with the camera all night"). Last night, second real attempt and I feel I can share something.
So here are a few, Im still having "focus" issues, and still dont have my wedge nor my remote for the camera to allow longer exposures, so these were all taken with my Nikon DSLR on 1600 iso, 30sec exposure.

Actually your focus wasn't that bad at all. I think for 1st shots you have done really well.

That's really impressive for a first attempt - I hope I do as well!
Orion doesn't seem to have enough information - I'm presuming that's due to the short exposures.
That first shot (tuc47?) shows just a slight star trail. But the second one doesn't .
I've got my wedge already so I'm looking forward to comparing notes with you!
I was going to ask you about finding polar south - but you haven't got the wedge!! D'oh!.

These images are not as bad as you think they are Andrew. Astrophotography is not an easy game to get into and what you have done on the first night is pretty good. Try to work on a system of getting organised and things will fall into place.
