I've used this illuminated guide for all my astrophotography. It is in excellent condition. New price is >$300. I'll sell for $150 including shipping in Australia. Located in Adelaide. Free pick-up ok. Free delivery in Adelaide may be possible, please ask. Inspections welcome.

The 1.25" barrel is placed in the focuser of your guide scope or finder and allows you to use a standard 1.25" eyepiece as an illuminated reticle eyepiece.

This unit projects an illuminated reticle into nearly any standard 1.25" eyepiece and can be used with or without the built in 3x barlow. The reticle can be oriented or repositioned anywhere within the eyepiece field of view allowing great versatility for manual guiding or aligning objects in your finder with your main scope.

The reticle image can be focused independently of the star image.

Gosh what a reaction. Four people want to buy the GA-3 already. Maybe I under-valued it? At the moment qld is top of the queue but I'll move on to astroboy if he/she drops out.

I have a lot of other stuff for sale. I think perhaps I should have listed everything in the one post. I'll list it later. There's Clave Paris Plossls and a camera piggyback adapter, and a Celestar C8 Deluxe to come.

Hi Steve

What batteries power this device? Some 10 years ago I did have one of these but was unable to purchase batteries locally.

I was able to work around this by purchasing a couple of smaller button type cells, using a small spring to hold them in place. I think I had to place the cells in a plastic tube to "fill out" the size and make them fit in the battery compartment?

I’m going off memory here, so I may be a bit fuzzy with some of the details.

They are an excellent, quality unit. I’m not sure if the current GA-4 uses a different battery? As with all Vixen products, it is a beautifully crafted unit and because the illuminated reticule is projected into the FOV, it does not “blot out” small stars as do the wires of illuminated cross hairs.

Cheers

Dennis

Hi Dennis, it has a small plastic tube in the battery compartment with three A76 button batteries stacked. Works very well without rattling or flickering.
