Hey all,

Received a Ba'ader 7nm Ha filter and thus am out in the moon light over the last couple of nights.

Whilst getting everything to work properly after the recent Snake Valley camp is becoming less of a time consuming problem, it's just nice when everything works.

First is M42, I know, boring, but it's all part of the learning curve, I think it ended up being a total of 2.33 hours made up of 10, 5 and 2 min subs and 10 x 30 second shots for the core. My blending isn't perfect, but hey, it's a start.

Second is Tarantula, 2.10 hours in 10 and 5 minute subs.

Comments, tips and advice greatly appreciated.

These two have come up OK Darren. Ha is something different to process and as I said to you on the phone, Longer subs is the way to get the best signal with the 7nm filter. Exposure and lots of it is the key.
Your blending of the core looks pretty darn good with the core quite visible.

Well done.

Just a note to be careful of Darren. Go very easy on shadows and highlights as they can was the detail and give a very monotone image if used a bit hard.

Nice work there Darren, you have done very well with Orion without blowing out the core. Well done mate.

Cheers Daniel.

I think the blending has been done quite well on M42, nice work Dazza

The Tarantula, actually both images really...looks just a tad soft..? Focus maybe?, any room for sharpening do you think?

Hey all, thank you for the comments. I have two partially edited images on the laptop at the moment, and oddly enough Mike, yes they are both sharpened.

But unfortunately work has filled most of the time for the last week and night shift tonight for a few days, Hopefully early next week I can finish the processing.

The one thing about this past time that separates it from others (other than the fantastic views), is the amount of support, assistance and help you get from others.

Thanks guys!
