Hi all,

Saddly the next new Moon circumstances don't allow for the customary session at the Airfield.

HOWEVER, the Airfield is available to us THIS Saturday night, 27'th of November, :stargaze: .

This will be the last hoora for this year at the Airfield, :drink: .

I'll be getting there around 8:30pm. The Airfield will be open before that though. I'm hoping to get the signs out to Rod before the evening.

Sorry about the short notice. It's be best I could manage at this busy time of the year, :xmas: :reindeer: :party2:  .

Cheers,

Mental.

This is as close to a moonless night as it gets, so I'll be there.

Cheers
Steffen.

I intend to be there, unless the weather intervenes.

Edit: just checked the forecast, not the best looking.

Decided not to come tonight as weather seems like it is about to change. Happy new year to all and hope to see you next year.

Sorry Guys, bought a couple of eyepieces and a filter today. Looks like I am the cause of the showers.

Damn, both APanel and SkippySky predict solid cloud cover for tonight. Unless this changes dramatically within the next 3 hours or so I think I'll give it a miss. What a shame…

Cheers
Steffen.

So sorry, I can't make it in any weather. I have hurt my back somehow. The spasms are killing me.

Apologies

I spent the early evening looking out the window, hoping things would clear, :screwy: . Would you believe it, IT DID! At 10pm from the window of where I was staying, Orion, Canis Major and co. were so clearly visible.

The best I could manage was a short session from a nearby golf course with a few street lights to contend with. But, hey, better than nothing.

I had my 10" scope (tiny bugger all packed up too), and was up and viewing half an hour later after dressing, driving and setting up.

The sky did have hazy low level cloud come and go, so I just did a bit of a tour, pinning a few of the targets from the November Obs. Challenge, and a few others.

M77 - bright bugger
M74
Fornax cluster - SO many galaxies!!
Mira

All of these were first time acquistions.

The session lasted one an a half hours only, until clouds, fog and dew ended what at first looked like a no-goer.

Better than nothing I guess.

Cheers,

Mental.
