Coped some more nice seeing again tonight. This time it was what I would call good seeing. I have not seen this sort of seeing for over two years. I am hoping for more later in the week.

Pete, yep pretty happy with this run. Nice data for a change.

Dark, my scope is a C14 which I have peltier cooled.

Beautiful Joop Paul.
Noticed the clarity yesterday down here too.

Paul, GREAT image!
Just have one newbie question though......
Hope you can help.
Why is it that the left hand side of Jupiter is more out of focus than the right hand side? It's almost like a crescent like what you would expect from an inner planet or the moon?
Sorry if this is an off topic question...

This is a slight rotational blur Bart. Because I register on storms in the center of the image you get some slight blurring on the edges of the image.

Hey Paul - both are stupendous - the 1107 UT image speaks to me......maybe because I have been drinking beer - I can hear planets!
Thanks for the ongoing updates of this SEB event!

Thanks Paul...... that makes sense, I guess I'll come across that someday.

Sorry but I have to say this.... but its great to converse with someone who has multiple entries in AS&T et al!
Cheers!

Paul were these taken at Clayton or Blackwood?

Excellent detail, SEB looks more aggressive in this shot

That shot's certainly got the wow factor. That's the first thing I said when I opened it.

Thanks guys.

Bart, no problem. It is always good to give back to the hobby.

Pete, this is taken from Blackwood/Glenalta. Nothing from Clayton yet. Maybe next year.

Matt I think it is the beer talking to you.:) More than happy to show you guys images of this thing if I can get out to image it. Clearing tonight again and this weekend looks to be set for a good session or two.

Congrats Paul a couple of very nice images, certainly some very nice seeing. Up here it was very poor with Jupiter waving like a flag. The only data I got worth processing was IR which shows 3 bright spots now associated with the revival.

I hope for better conditions tonight or over the next few days, glad you finally got a good run with the conditions, looking forward to more from you.

Regards
Trevor

Excellent images Paul, I was hoping someone had some images from last night. I was looking last night and thought I could see the SEB a bit darker on one side than the other. Your images confirm what I was seeing.

wonderful color image with a lot of detail

In the northern latitudes, Jupiter is unfortunately still very much disturbed by the seeing. Next year it will get better.
