After a bit more dabbling here's my second image - the Theophilus Crater. Captured with CPC11 & DMK21, Processed through Registax.
This time I was a lot more conservative on the wavelets than my first image. Comments welcome . I need all the advice I can get.

Looking good. Lots of nice detail coming through. The dark shadow areas are not quite right. Is the wavelets that brings this in? Maybe play with curves to darken the shadows.

Hey Bones - I would be very excited about this as your second lunar!
Keep going - the Moon, albeit close, can be a challenging target due to the conditions. Practice heaps and when the conditions, focus, exposure etc are on you will produce excellent images. Enjoy the journey!!!

Very nice! Just a tiny bit burnt out in the highlights, but otherwise I like the detail and some of the more subtle tonal changes visible.

Thanks Clayton. The burnt out highlights might have arisen from trying to get the finer details through. The original avi was a bit darker so it might have lightened those areas a bit too much trying to get some kind of balance in there.

Thanks Malcolm.

Thanks Matt. Taking this on the first night with my new setup and with a bit of wind about I was moreso experimenting with the capturing menu's for the camera and paying less attention to the focussing aspect. I'll no doubt spend more time trying to get the focus right next time - hopefully the weather clears up soon.

Thanks Michael. It could be the wavelets. I was trying to bring a bit more of the finer details through in the smoother areas. What are "the curves"? (I've only started with Registax this week and still trying to get used to the functions and terminology.)

I appreciate all the feedback to date :thanx:.
