People are funny sometimes.. :)

My wife and I arranged the "bulk waste collection", you know, when you pile all your junk up on the front lawn and the council come along and take it away.

We piled this all up on tuesday night, around 7:30 or 8pm, due for collection the next day.

But by the time the garbage truck had come, at least half a dozen bits of "stuff" were already collected by passers by :)

We also had a perfectly fine rabbit cage/hutch that we didn't want to throw away, so we thought we'll put it out after the garbage is collected, and put a sign on it "free, please take".

It was on the lawn for less than 30 minutes and it was gone! :)

It reminded me of that Simpsons episode, where they couldn't get rid of their trampoline (couldn't give it away).. so in the end they put a chain on it and 5 minutes later it was stolen

Sounds like a great option for getting rid of a pain in the butt wife. Get here drunk and put her out on the front lawn, why didnt I think of that.

:drink: :scared:

When I was moving back from the Central Coast to Victoria I had a garage sale of eveything! Furniture, gardening tools, etc. Advertised in the paper, put signs up, all the usual.

Hardly anything sold! A couple of vases, a coffee table.

2 days before we moved we stuck the lot out on the roadside (a whole house lot, incl 2 lounge suites, wardrobes, beds, wall units, pot plants, dining setting, kitchen stuff, cutlery, plates, stools, old TV etc etc etc) and within 2 hours it was all gone!!!!

Gotta laugh!

I had a phone call today from an artist friend who visits dumps to scrounge for metal bits and pieces for his sculptures.
In the last week he has picked up a telescope for $10, a slightly damp MP3 player still in the box for free and a set of star cards that you hold up to the sky and match the the stars with the holes in the cards. The latter will be turned into lamp shades unfortunatly.

Mike I had someone come past as I was putting two rocking chairs out and he offered me $10 each, so I took the money. If he had waited 30 seconds he would have done what happened at your place

Ken,
It's me little kitty cat.
She's tired after being out all night with me at the telescope.
