Hi All, a brief break in the clouds early this evening allowed Mars to peek through long enough to grap a quick avi through the new 4x powermate(YUM)
I needed it too, Mars is shrinking so quickly it's already as small with the 4x as it was with the 2.5 x just two weeks ago. It's only just over 9arc sec in diameter. Seeing was average.
I took 1800 frames (1/10sec exposure at 10fps) and stacked 1030 of them for the image attached, some wavelets and LR deconvolution 5 iterations at 1.7 radius.
Given the size I'm really quite pleased with the detail, Solis Lacus is still very clear - it's as good as many of my early season shots when Mars was 15arc sec or more in size. :) Some fringing - not sure the cause, though remembered after I hadn't checked the collimation after the trip back from Bundy.
anyway, enjoy.
