Three views of Comet Hartley post flyby

I took these this morning before work.

Shot 1 is 1524mm FL with the homecooled DSI II Pro and 12" Newt.
CCD temp was 10C, ambient 15C. Aligned on the Comet.

Shot 2 is same setup, aligned on stars. Rejected frames in these stacks show as gaps in the stars.

Shot 3 is a DSLR shot, piggybacked to the Newt, looking through the
dome slot.

Good job Steve, thanks for the view.
Reckon I heard a story about this on the ABC radio yesterday. I think they were talking to the guy that discovered it, he worked at Siding Springs and was doing some survey work at the time with the UK Schmidt when this comet showed up on one of his plates.

From the animation it seems the nucleus is tumbling about a bit? Maybe due to the seeing, but if you look closely, the shape of the pinpoint changes shape...

Thanks guys for the feedback.
I've been trying to get a decent wide field shot of this
comet for a while now. No luck so far mainly because the
gradients caused by light pollution looking north east over
Adelaide. This would be a good few weeks to try and
get Hartley from a dark site. It is quite bright.

Checked out Hartley again last night, and has faded a bit from 1 week ago, seems to have lost its bright central core. :sadeyes:

I should have tried the morning of Nov 06th (sat).
That turned out to be the pick of nights this weekend so far but
I'm full of flu and gave it away.
Managed to get another result this morning at 1am and have overlaid
it on the 05 Nov image for comparison. She's moving quite rapidly :)
Latest shot taken with Scooter (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=60347) the lightweight GEM in between rain showers.

Thanks Steve.
Hartley will be between M46 and M47 on 29/11.
The attached map is from SkyMap Pro.
It shows the comet's position at midnight from 19/11 to 2/12.
On 20/11 it will be 5 degrees north of M46.
