View Full Version here: : Jupiter Nov 1st in reasonable seeing

Imaged Jupiter last night in quite reasonable seeing, better than the GFS chart predictions. I think the improved seeing may have been due to the low alt and high alt winds traveling in the same direction, sort of laminar flow.
Have attached 3 RGB's and 5 807nm IR images.
I have also put the IR images into an animation and have attached a link.

Lovely detail Trevor, each a little different. I think I like the first colour shot the best:thumbsup:, and of course the last for composition.:P
Nice pictures Trevor, well done

Hello, Trevor
A very impressive portfolio of images; the animation was quite mesmerising. Although it may be an over used metaphor, I really did feel like I was on close approach to Jupiter, onboard some interplanetary spacecraft, peering out of the window.
Terrific work as usual – if there were an Olympics for Jupiter imagers, you would be guaranteed a gold medal, several times over!:)
Cheers

Thanks very much Lester.
Thanks Clayton, these images cover just under 2 1/2 hrs of rotation and really underline just how quickly it rotates. Of course the most interesting side is that of BA & the GRS, but then, back in June it was on the boreing side that Bird imaged the fireball from an asteroid impact. It is interesting in the final IR image how BA the GRS and the red spot in the NNTrZ come up.
Thanks for the comment Troy.
Thanks for the very generous coment Dennis, I am so glad that the animation came up well for you, I was a bit worried that it may be a bit to course. It is possible to make very smooth animations with WinJUPOS but I just dont seem to have the time to work out how to do it so I continue to rely on Animation Shop which is quick and easy to use.
Thanks very much Matt, appreciate you comment.
Thanks very much Michaell.
Thanks very much Ray.

Nice work Trevor. Some very nice detail and the seeing is starting to co-operate here too.
