Now that AIC2010 is complete I can relax enough to do some image processing. I thought this mysterious reflection nebula that resembles a ghostly apparition” would be appropriate for this holiday weekend (at least in the states).

Thanks for taking the time to look,

Very nice subtle detail Ken. I like the way the dust has been brought forward while the detail in the reflection nebula has been maintained.
Beautifully done.

Sadly the fruit box machine ( iPad) doesn't display your images on your website...... I'm sure it's a nice image though

What a wonderful shot Ken, congratulations. It has a real 3D feel to it and the colours are fantastic. And then there's all the background galaxies, perfect!

Very nice image Ken. It has such a nice three dimensional aspect to the dust cloud and the star field in the back ground.

Thanks for all the encouragement - the blue shock fronts rings in the reflection nebula are very interesting to me. Will have to study up on them.

I remember when Russ Croman did this shot some years ago now with his then new 20" RC and as it did then, it reminds me of a sock puppet :P

Lovely image of The Sock Puppet Nebula Ken

It was great to see Russ at AIC2010. His images were always so inspirational and on the cutting edge.

That is why the AIC board voted to give Russ the Hubble Award at AIC2010. I was very proud to present my good our highest honor.

That's a weird looking one. Looks like a dark dooda with a blue tip. Those blue circles and concentric waves are pretty cool. Very nice.
