I'll really miss discovery!
But it's time to let him rest after all what he's done for us :D
Liz, aren't 12 hours of diference between Florida and Sydney? (not sure)... so about 4am there?
Hi Luis .... well, more in your time zone ;) ... would that be 4am on the 2nd or the 3rd, is there a days difference?

Chris,
www.spacevidcast.com -- it's in HD, and not delayed by two minutes like NASA TV.

According to the Nightskyonline website the launc has been delayed:
"Technical problems have resulted in the launch of the Space Shuttle Discovery being delayed until 5.52 am AEST Thursday morning. More information about the delay can be found here (http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/shuttle/main/index.html) on NASA’s website."
The time quoted is in real time, not "Summer" time.
Looks like an early morning Thursday.

Pete,
It's a good site. Just make sure you hop on about 15-20 minutes prior to launch as it can get a little crowded on there. There's a chatroom on there so you can chat with other people as you wait for the lunch. Make sure you have your stereo on loud and enjoy the view in full screen.
I will post a link here later tonight, when I get home from work, of a HD launch with awesome sound, that is typical of SpaceVidCast.

After reading this Shuttle delayed by electrical problem (http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/news/breaking-news/shuttle-delayed-by-electrical-problem/story-e6frea73-1225947000337) I was reminded of a Dr Who episode where Tom Baker thumps the monitor to bring it back to life and complains of 20th century technology which is what the shuttles are.

In the real world we don't have to arbitrarily change the clocks twice a year... we think the Sun does a good enough job as it is, thanks.
Oh, thank heavens I haven't missed it.
Thanks folks, for reminding me, I haven't checked in for a while.
Geeze, I gotta go to work, and have to check back as to when it is ... maybe 22 hrs away, yeah, I like that!!!

I hope it clears,Not sure if there is going to be a pass over S.E QLD.
