Starting from around 3am AEDST tomorrow morning, the GRS will begin transitting Jupiter.

Daylight will most likely intervene before it sets.

Callisto will be quite close to Jupiter but won't be transitting.

A good imaging opportunity if your skies are clear!

Well I captured Jupiter this morning, both digitally and using my eyeballs. The GRS was close to setting at the time I was up (about 4:30am).

Jupiter was (as always!) a magnificent sight, especially because the seeing was very good! It's the first time I've seen her this apparition and it's already very large! It was only at 30° alt when I was capturing, but I could still plainly make out the setting GRS, as well as a large blue barge crossing the meridian. Callisto was close to the planet, while the other 3 moons were in a line off to the right (in my eyeball view).

I'm *really* looking forward to the upcoming Jupiter opposition, to think how large it is already and how large it's going to get! And at 80° altitude!

Had an amazing night with the planets, Saturn was beautiful at 1:00am - very crisp and calm.

Anyway, got some great avi's and will spend some time today processing them!
