I managed to get a bit of Hydrogen Alpha for NGC 371 in the SMC. The data wasn't great but these days you take what you can get. Eventually I hope to produce a mosaic of this area centred on NGC 346.
Cheers

Thanks Doug. Don't hold your breath on the mosaic though given the weather.
Cheers

The 2 frame mosaic looks good, particularly the 346 side ( presume it has more data) . A great project, of a not too popular section of the SMC.

Thanks guys. Judging by the weather (it's raining again) the mosaic should be finished sometime in 2012.

Trevor this catalogue gives the sizes of LMC & SMC objects.
Catalogue of extended objects in Magellanic Clouds (Bica+, 2008)

You can join the selected tables. If you type *NGC* in the names box it will list only the NGC objects.
NGCs 330, 346 and 371 are visible in 7x50 binoculars.

Thanks Glen but in my frustration I found this site which seems easier to follow the item I'm looking for is in the IC catalogue

Thanks Trevor. I still use my copy of Hartung "Astronomical Objects for Southern telescopes" a lot but I understand that copies of it are very hard to find these days.
