I found Travolta! Yes I did! But it was in my dreams. He came over to my house and I don't know why,:ashamed: but I had to prove to him what a big fan I was by showing him all the stuff I'd collected over the years on him. Nearly the entire dream was looking for it (oh dear, searching still) :screwy: and explaining to him I really did have it. I eventually found it and asked him if he'd like to stay for dinner which was a lamb casserole and I don't know why as I don't like lamb casserole, so it should have been a lamb roast. I got the lamb part right anyway :D (you know, Tom Cruise and all). But I woke up before he answered!:bashcomp:.
Bottom line, I think I will only ever meet Travolta in my dreams  especially now that Oprah is doing a lottery audience. :mad2: Yep, yep... in my dreams. Oh, well, I woke up smiling so he made me happy anyway :D.

Last week, after I made my first obs. report on the forum here, the Orion Nebula was part of my report and that night I ended up having a dream on the Orion Nebula. I remember it being a beautiful dream, but I just don't remember it now.

Crazy things dreams are aren't they and then trying to figure out what it all means. Lets have some light hearted fun and share our dreams... Who's going to go next? :D

One reoccurring dream I have is that I am in a bar with some of my hero's
Its a entertainers tea party some who I can vividly remember are Elvis, John Wayne James Deane, Marlin Brando,Johnny Cash and Of course there is Marylin Monroe, plus lots of others.
I think it goes back to the picture I saw in a mens hair dressers shop that seems to have stuck in my mind.
Also I have been to GRACELAND too and felt the vibes:rolleyes:.
Great thread Suzy:thumbsup:

This is why men don't talk about stuff

Seriously though .... You know that scene in "Contact" where Jodie Foster is in the virtual world looking at the centre of some impossibly mystical galaxy... reaches out and everything shimmers under her touch.... Incredible scene... idealistic... wonderful....

Nope..., never dreamed about that either !

Time for a visit to Perth me thinks Suzy.

JOHN Travolta will fly his own plane to Australia in November to attend a charity event, The West Australian reported Tuesday. The star, who has made regular trips to Australia, will take part in a 26-hour telethon broadcast on November 13 and 14, The West Australian reported, citing a Channel 7 publicist.
The appearance of the 54-year-old actor Down Under is being timed to coincide with the 90th birthday celebrations of Qantas - the Australian airline for which Travolta is an official goodwill ambassador.
It is understood Travolta, who holds a pilot's license, will fly his Boeing 707 to Western Australia.
Australian television network Channel 7 has run a telethon - a non-stop fundraising broadcast - in Perth to raise money for children's charities since 1968.

Early Monday morning, I dreamed my best friend and I were in my lounge room, on the floor, playing with a chocolate coloured labrador. She was the loveliest natured dog with silken ears and a big goofy grin on her face. Her 5 puppies kept escaping from the basket in the kitchen.
I've no idea what the dream means, if anything. LOL

Suzy I have incredibly active dreams, some I remember very well and some actually repeat themselves on different nights.

I can also travel the world, and find that in my dreams I have been in different countries, and so on.;)

However If work is involved in my dream, it always relates to a work place and people that I worked for many years ago.

The dream person I used to listen to on the radio used to base all her ideas on a lot of basic emotive stuff(resolved or not ) rather than the specific content of the dreams themselves.

There are certain times when i have the same dream. For example whenever i get really sick (even if its years apart) i still have the same dream, it's strange.
I have also had a dream of someone being shot, it was all very clear. 4 days after i had that dream the exact person i dreamt about was shot (they were not seriously injured) Thats one of a rare few pre-cognitive dreams i have had. Why can't i just dream about Jessica Alba:confused2:

When I was living in Brisbane, every night I'd dream I was flying.
It was very very real and exhilarating.
But I always had to watch out for power lines, I always seemed to be having to dodge them.
Once we moved to the country the dreams stopped.

All of these dreams mentioned so far are really interesting and some are quite bizarre! They have to mean something. Thanks for sharing guys, this been a very interesting thread.

Nettie, I wonder if your dream stopped because you were seeking freedom and got it in the countryside once you moved there. I heard once that dreams of flying means freedom is sought.

And Ron, your one is certainly a bizarre one! Your dreams are chasing you through consciousness... wow!

And then Brett's one, actually predicting a future outcome...! Brett, the look on your face and what must have been running through your head when you heard that news must have been a doozy.

Max- Travolta shortish? I think I better google some measurements... Or are you extra tallish when you met him . Okay, googled and done: 6ft 2". Not short :P. By the way, naturally, I am ridiculously jealous that you met him, and for that I will have to :poke: you.

My dreams are many and varied, some able to spoken about here and others definately not. The definately not types are of course most enjoyable as are my flying dreams. I look forward to either of these as both extend the boundaries of my conscious existance. The flying dreams always start exactly the same way, its very windy and Im on a hillside of some sort and I just put my arms out to catch more of the wind and lean into it ... bingo lift off and up and up and up. I can see places I know very well in some of them and experience the exhilaration of being a bird in them. Some flying dreams I am escaping an unpleasent situation that someone created ... so they are after me I guess and I just go up and up and up to escape. Its a bit like hang gliding as I dont flap to fly but rather am always on the lookout for up draughts etc. I dont know about flying dreams being your subconscious reaction to wanting freedom as I have never thought of my freedoms having confines ... well apart from the 6 years I spent in the Air Force. I also have these bloody aweful dreams that you cant get out of. Everytime you wake the very second your back in REM state its back to that same dream. They are the pits and its always the most stupidist things like trying to get past a stop sign at an intersection for example. They leave you feeling like you've just run a marathon to get into the ring with Jeff Fenech !!!

I think being a piscarian I am a prolific dreamer in the conscious state as well :lol::lol:

Oh man don't get me started. According to some of my friends i must be crazy when i sleep. I have the most vivid, bizarre dreams, and they seem to make so much sense while im having them. once i dreamt that i had this strange grey thinng crawling under the skin on my wrist. My sister (who is estranged to say the least) was there and told me "don't worry its just a wrist worm" and then proceeded to cut it out.
So now my friends often repeat her words to make me laugh. Another i had where i died, and was just a ghost walking around. The strange thing was that everyone could see and touch me, not like a real ghost at all, so when i told them, they didnt believe me. the problem was that i only had a few hours before i would become a real ghost and i wanted to get my things in order before i had to go, but i couldn't convince anyone. it was quite sad. Weirdest of all is that when i had died i had been decapitated, so i was carrying around my head to prove to everyone that i really was gone.
I'm not really crazy, just have lots of family issues that come out in my dreams in the strangest ways lol. :confused2:

Ah dreams! My wife is jealous of my dreams, I try to tell her about them every time I have one and can remember details. I find that if I go over the details as soon as I wake, I can usually remember them fairly well. If I don't do this, the details dissappear in a few minutes and within half an hour or so I can't even be sure I had a dream. We just came back from a 17 night cruise around the Australia from Perth to Sydney and every time I had a dream, I wrote it down and entered the description into the photo album. I think I documented about a dozen or so.

In one dream I had this large blue cushion that would fly when I got onto it, but it only went to about shoulder height. Everyone thought it was a great idea, but I explained it was only a prototype and I was hoping to get it to go higher as I had to be careful I didn't hit people on the back of the head as I was flying along. I also wanted to get it to fly higher!

In another one I went back to the place where I used to work and had to pick something up, so I parked in the roadway along the side of the buildings. When I came back to the car, I could see myself sitting in the drivers seat, but thought to myself "this is great, because I am in the front, I can open the back of the car without having to put down what I am holding". I just thought of opening the back and it opened. I then realised I had forgotten something and so went back in. I walked through one laboratory and some of the people I used to work with 20 years ago were playing squash against one of the walls, even though the room was full of electronic equipment. This didn't seem unusual. I walked into another room and they were about to start an aerobics class, but I was busy and so couldn't stay. I had to go upstairs, but there were no elevators, so I had to climb on the outside of the building, but piled on the outside were cars! You had to climb through the back and out through the windows to make your way up. As I got to the top floor I began to fall. I was saved as the "Cookie Monster" appeared from inside a rubbish bin and reached out and grabbed me. Then I woke!!!

I actually just bought a couple of books from Amazon (I wanted to buy something at 97 cents!) on dreams. They both have very good reviews and don't seem to treat dreams as prophecy, but rather as the brain interpreting events. I don't see any basis for why dreams would fortell the future, if I wanted to know the future, I would have bought books on astrology!

"We can sail with our imaginations and think about all the things we could do if we had access to a person's brain and basically visualise their thoughts. "For example, instead of just having to write an email you could just think it. Or another futuristic application would be to think a flow of information and have it written in front of your eyes."
Very scary stuff in that article, Ron! :eyepop: Interesting reading.

Strangest dream I had recently was that I was broken down on some country back road with my new employee. For some reason we had a few bags of groceries with fresh t-bone steaks, eggs and milk and decided to walk carrying the groceries.

Along the way we were picked up by John Howard and Alexander Downer and I somehow ended up giving John Howard a serving about how he lost an election that he should have won hands down and how Alexander Downer had been setup at a fall guy :screwy:??

Anyway they dropped us of at a bus station and they invited us to meet them at John's place to give them advice and help on their re-election coup.

When we left my primary concern was if the T-Bones steaks were ok to feed to the dogs. John thought the steaks might have gone off.

You know how they say it's rare to dream in black and white? When I was a kid I dreamt in black and white about a bear and a wolf dancing around a tree to really old music on a record player but there was a colour rainbow behind them but the rest of the dream was black and white....strange.

Another dream that sticks in my mind from not too long ago...there was this really tall ever green tree and there was a really fat person standing on a branch then they fell out of the tree toward the ground just as a golf ball flew up into the air...I don't get my dreams sometimes.

Gee, I'd be happy just to be in the crowd . I'm not jealous, no I'm not . Shelley I used to always dream in black and white as a child. In fact my dreams only got colourised about 20 years ago (in my mid 20's). And wow what spectacular colour.

Hi All,

I had a very, very intense dream last night. I was in the Ala Moana shopping centre not far from Waikiki in Honolulu when I heard a lot of rumblings and explosions. I rushed outside into a park across the road and saw a volcanic island a few kilometres off the coast (yes I know there isn't one there) undergoing a massive Plinian-type eruption creating a spectacular rising column/cloud of ash riddled with lightning & thunder. Absolutely awe-struck and wondering if I'd get a better view if I moved right down on to the bay or whether I'd be better off heading in the direction of the mountains behind, where I'd have more elevation.

Reality hit hard seconds later when it starts raining boulders the size of lounge-chairs up to the size of small cars. The first one landed a few hundred metres away and I can remember seeing it in flight, fascinated by the beautiful parabolic arc it was describing as it hurtled toward ground. Then several more landed quite close-by and there were people in a panic fleeing and being killed. Things were being smashed to pieces and then I saw one that seemed to be heading directly for me and I quickly figured that if I thought that, it was more likely to land just behind me so I ran forward several steps. It smashed into a couple of eucalyptus trees (on Honolulu -- go figure) and just shattered them into matchwood. Seconds later, I could see a huge tsunami-like wave heading into the coast and I started to run for my life away from the sea -- that's when I awoke.

All in technicolour, HD, 3-D and surround sound. Extremely impressive.

I don't attach any sort of significance to what I saw as a "premonition" -- at first I was just fascinated and awe-struck and it then turned to blind panic.

Best,

Les D

Had dreams where I could .... FLY ... no really ... sometimes I am walking down a road ... and suddenly for no apparent reason, I'm being chased by a mob ... and as I run to get away ... I push down on the air around me and leap into the air and I go higher and higher ( as long as I keep pushing on the air .... like breaststroke in water ) . If I stop pushing ... I descend downwards.

Sometimes I can jump great heights ... over high fences or buildings...kinda like the scenes from the Matrix Movies.

I've dream't this several times over the years .... been a while now since it last happened.

Here's one for yah...!!! Ever been in a dream and whilst in that dream ... you have realized that you are in a dream. That has happened a couple of times to me.

Just thought I'd share that ....

Had an odd dream the other night, I was trying to convince my uni teacher to destroy Justin Bieber.

Then another time I dreamt I was about 30cm tall and piloting a paper plane thru my local Coles, trying to get with various female employees. The store appeared to be merged with the Big W I work at and then all of a sudden I was full size again and was trying to get my hypothetical girlfriend to go to liquorland for me... this shopping centre was based on the real life one near my place but everything was psychodelic and it was alive and colourful like the cartoon representations of being high on dope

Back when I was younger I used to watch those Malcolm Douglas shows. One night I dreamt I was at a beach, with the tide rushing in and was trying desperately to climb the sand dunes to get away from the rising water. Somehow I could never climb it, when in real life it would've been a piece of cake...
