Hi all,
I thought I would put out a reminder that Movember is just around the corner. Most would know what it is a bout, but in case you don't here is the deal. To raise awareness and money for the serious problems of prostate cancer and depression, male participanes will grow a moustash starting clean shaven on the 1st of November. The ladies are also encouraged to take part and support the cause as Mo-sistas.
I would like to encourage everyone to either take part and join a team, as an individual, or donate to someone who is. Personally I relate to this cause as my father succumbed to prostate cancer in 1998.
My work has formed a team called LinkMoWater, and if you like, you can donate to me or my team at http://au.movember.com/mospace/624280/.
Cheers and thanks for looking,
Tony
Very good cause. :)
Guys at work do it, but I find mows a bit scary ..... and unattractive. :help:
Apologies to guys here with mows, but I like a clean shaven face.

To each their own I suppose. Anne-Louise likes my facial hair, it was a real struggle to get her to allow me to shave to a goatee as opposed to a full beard (although she is totally onboard for this month). Hang on, do you think she is just happy to see my face hidden
I have to say that one of the guys at work says that this month should be renamed "No Lovin' Month".
Thanks for the support Liz... not likely you will run accross me and get the scare of your life ;).

Yeah good cause, i always take part.
I don't mind looking like a 70's porn star for a few weeks.
I wasn't aware of the Mo-sistas....there is a lady at work who could probably give a few of the men a run for their money, she has a nice fluffy blonde moustache :eyepop:

As with any activity, you hafta follow the rules.
You start the month clean shaven.
You don't join the mo to the side-burns... that's a beard.
you don't join the ends together on the chin... that's a goatee.
Theres more, but these are the basics.
Sorry top burst any bubbles... just following the rules :).
As an update to my activities in the upcoming Movember, I spoke with Anne-Louise and we have decided that if I am able to raise $500 I will allow my head to be shaved at work and post the video on YouTube. Lets face it... not goiing to be a big deal in my case .
As an added incentive, if I raise $1000, I will shave my eyebrows as well... Shades of David Bowie and the Man Who Fell to Earth.
Support your wanna-be porn star :P.

Tony, I always contribute, so if a team doesn't form at work you could be the lucky man. Apart from it being a good cause in general I know too much about depression to not contribute. I don't join in as a fund raiser because I have a full beard and my facial hair grows at a glacial rate - Movember would have to last all year.
Stacey, that doesn't look like a crim. Around here we would take you for a feral ecologist. We'd assume you spend you days counting frogs or lizards or some such.

I started growing mine in the 70's, didn't do me any good then, or since! :D
Good cause!
Cheers

I have been talked into joining the Movember team at our work. I haven't grown a mo since my university days....at that stage I looked like a Mexican drug lord with the mo, hoping things have improved...
Does that mean i cant shave my legs for a month  :screwy:
