Hi all,
(To the mods, if this should be moved please do so.)
Didn't want to post this in the trading post forums as I am just after some preliminary expression of interest of some land that my sister and I own and that we are most likely going to have to sell in order to have some funds for ourselves and for looking after our aging parents.
The land is approximately 440 acres, it is about 10 minutes drive from the township of Coolongolook up along Curreeki Creek Road. It is about 20 minutes from Bulahdelah, 30-40 minutes from Forster and about 45 minutes from Taree. You'd be looking at a 3 hour drive from Sydney but the new roads make the trip a pleasure.
This is a Google maps link to the land: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Coolongolook&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&ie=UTF8&hl=en&hq=&hnear=Coolongolook+New+South+Wales, +Australia&ll=-32.222767,152.287953&spn=0.015648,0.022337&t=h&z=16
The block has access to the Curreeki Creek itself, has a mixture of scrub/bush and cleared land, there is also a "3 corner paddock" which we have grown corn on occasionally. The bush has some Silky Oak (great for furniture making) and Australian Red Cedar. There is a rather impressive waterfall (during rainy season).
There is also an old shed that has been used as a house and an old milking bails that has been used to hold pigs. There is electrical access though I believe it is currently not connected. I am not sure of the allowances for houses but we will be looking into zoning soon from the Great Lakes Council (there has always been a dwelling of some sort on the land, so this should just be paperwork).
The land itself has a nice high ridge with decent horizon views that would be great for an observatory (have been thinking about this myself if I ever win the lotto, we still own another piece of land adjacent to this block which my folks currently live on). My dad has recently fixed up some of the fences and regularly slashes the open areas. Access to the block is via a small dirt road (Curreeki Creek Road itself is dirt but is regularly graded and maintained as the road is used by a timber mill further up).
We are not sure of a price at the moment, but we may have to sell quickly so we would be open to negotiation.
If people are interested please PM me.
Thanks,
Simon
