Hi guys, well at last Alice and I have started our first trip, and are now the second day into it. :D :D

Pulling this rig has it challenges but now I'm pretty used to it, and we are experiencing new things all the time.

This inaugural trip should see us gone for at least 7-8 weeks, we will then come home for Christmas and then shortly after that we will be heading off for as long as it takes. ;).

We a first heading West, but due to my mum being very un well in a residential home in Queensland we decided to go North first, on the chance that we may not see her at all if we we to head the other direction.

Anyway it doesn't matter really, has we have no time frame to follow.

We are presently on Phillip Island for a day or two after which we will be heading along the Coast, and slowly venture toward Queensland and from there we will take some weeks to come down South a bit further inland.

Below are 2 pics of the rig packed and ready to head toward Phillip Island today

It's never going to fit across my front yard!
Lucky there is a free council camping ground just down the road from me. Hot showers and everything.
Be safe and enjoy the drive.

Enjoy your trip....I know you will.

Ah Ric it is some thing we have been planning for a couple of years, and yes it is spectacular indeed, however we did have to sacrifice some things to be able to purchase it.

No name as yet, but that is coming, and JJJ might take you up on that we just need a bit of space, the showers and other facilities are already built in, totally self sufficient, can go anywhere, no utilities needed.

Hi Leon,

I thought we had sorted out the name before?

Otherwise TOFOTR works for me.....Two Old Farts On The Road :)

Looks like you should apply for a POSTCODE for that monster!

Certainly looks comfy.

Enjoy...

Cheers

P*O*R*C*H*Y !! wow what a nice setup. There's got to be some leather upholstery in there  Perhaps even a plasma .

I'm happy that you are finally starting your journey Leon & Alice. All the wonderful adventures you are about to embark on, all the precious memories you are about to collect, new friendships made along the way. Priceless.

All the best to you and Alice.
Suzy.

Thanks to one and all for your kind remarks, we have been off line for a couple of days due to the fact that we have been free camping and have hidden ourselves into beautiful bushland. ;)

Seeing that the rig is totally self sufficient we are able to stay anywhere and still have all the necessities of life. :)

Yes H, the name is still coming, just have not got around to it yet.

We are presently in Ulladulla, just past Bateman's Bay, and we intend to stay a couple of days.

All is going beautifully with the van and truck, a bit heavy on fuel, but what the heck, the CVM, is about 8.5 tonnes. :eyepop:

Hi Trevor, sorry mate no portable rig this time, but lots of nice L Glass.
Also I will be good to mum, and the Iveco is made in Italy, now when we come to the fuel consumption, well, I'm not real sure on that yet but it is fairly high, I expect, will work it out soon, when I am finished having fun.

Jen my friend, I will take you up on that offer, when I'm in that neck of the woods.
