Yes Neo!
There are approximately 17 different companies taking bookings for space flights! (all private companies). Virgin is just one of them. It's not that far away before the first passenger flights!

Yeah I've heard they are taking bookings but it ain't cheap. You pay a fortune to barely go into space, but I'm sure there will be plenty of takers. Me I'm waiting for the price to come down :P

Most of the first bookings were gobbled up by Hollywood stars and filthy rich Businessmen.
Apparently there are over 10,000 tickets already booked from all over the world!

They have to pay on booking! It is less than you would think. Most seats have gone for around $10,000 - $20,000.

Boy, its incredible how technology is changing, although this could be a death wish. You could pay 200k to get blown up in a space ship, you never know what could happen.

There are a lot of companies offering flights.
The most common one is 'Space Adventures'. With them you can choose a flight in a Mig Fighter Jet, SpacePlane to the 100k limit (just in space), an Orbiter to Low Orbit (way into space), or thier Premium trip to the ISS (way way into space).

For about $3K US, you can go for a a Zero G flight in the US.
I for one am keen to go one one of these !
I believe in the next few years these flights will be available around the world.

The Mig Jet flight (which is offered by the ex-russian military fighter pilots in Russia) takes you to the edge of the atmosphere. so black above and blue below you. This costs 200Kish (wonder if this will come down when virgin-galatic takes off - mid 2007).
You get to experience the low G environment, not that you "really" get to experience it being strapped in at the cockpit!. It also includes two weeks of intense training including a zero G flight on a vomit comet! (does the parobala(sp?) loops to give the effect of zero G).
Ok maybe i looked into it a little!

Funny how history repeats. My passed relatives , were probably saying something like "Isn't technology wonderful, why , in a few years, we will be able to get on one of those aer-e-o-planes and fly into the sky"
Basically, we are saying the same thing.
Now the question is what will our future relos say ? Its true, the past 100 years have seen more advance, than the last 1,000
