Philips Toucam Software Issues

Hi,

I'm having trouble installing the software for my Philips PC Camera PCVC840K.

The camera used to work on my old laptop using Windows 2000 but seems to be having installation problems with Vista.

An error keeps coming us saying "No USB String found" ???

Is anyone else experiencing this problem and knows how to troubleshoot it?

The 840K doesn't run under windows Vista.
It can be flashed to a 900nc to work or I believe there's other solutions which can be tried.

I followed these instructions and all worked fine. It says it is for a 740K but mine is an 840K and there was no problem.
