Hello,

There was solid cloud cover last weekend so I decided to turn one of my less-used scopes to good use.

I hooked up the Sky Watcher 100mm with FL of about 1000mm to the 20Da, balance it on the back of a chair and point it, from the ground, at the White-Faced Herron nest to get some shots of the rapidly growing chicks.

I wish i could get better saturation from the shots but didn't want to push the processessing too far.

Anyhow,

Here are some of the shots i thought were interesting, usually because of the cute "pose" they took.

I like 2, 3, 4 and 7 the best so far.

I didn't climb up on the roof for these i must admit...maybe this weekend coming.

hope you like,

Cheers

Actually i think I like #6 the best!
The look that chick on the right is giving is sooo funny!

A nice series Frank – some difficult lighting conditions with the backlight and dull day. An interesting insight into a day in the life of these chicks! Good work!

Nice shots there Frank :thumbsup:the one on the right looks quite a bit bigger than the other two:question:
There must be lots of food about to breed three, it will be interesting to see if all three survive.

Thanks Dennis, Ron and Stephen,

Yes they're lovely, I'm pretty confident they will survive we had them there before, I just dont know when they take flight? Soon I presume

I love the way a scope can be used to capture images. At least i can use something to image other than space.

I tried it when I first got my camera. Cool stuff
