My SPC880NC arrived from Morgan's today :xmas: well it felt like it after the wait.

Flashed it to SPC900NC with no problems and was lucky enough to get mostly clear sky tonight.

So here is my first results on Jupiter using my trusty 80GTL. All were processed in Avistack2.

1. 1st image 2. hit it hard with wavelets
3. 2nd using 3x barlow 4. hit it with wavelets again

It's a start and better than anything I could get with my other webcam. I found it very hard to play with settings as my tracking is a bit off and I have one hand on the scope control and one playing with camera settings. Problem is I need 3 pairs of eyes to watch all this.

Spent a bit more time at the controls tonight and got a slightly better result on the screen. Added my diagonal to the path to increase the image scale a bit.

It's a start Michael. It's been nasty seeing down your way nearly all Jupiter apparition, & your photos reflect that. Seeing conditions are the biggest factor with planet imaging & unfortunately it'll have you over a barrel until it decides to come good. After saying that, nasty seeing is a good time to 'practice practice practice' until you know your imaging setup backwards.

All the best for better seeing.

I've been using wxAstroCapture and recently tried SharpCap. Can't say I have a preference yet.
Processed with Avistack2.

Thanks John. A long way to go but it's all part of the fun.

What video format did you use ?
If i use AVI Stack is says the fram length does no match the codec ?
So im having to split down to images and then use registax

Must admit that's not something I am consistant with. But it would be one of I420, IYUV, or YUY2.

AS just says '*' when I open them now.

Have you downloaded KRSgrAVI.dll and KRSgrAVI.dlm? They are the key to video formats with AS. You can use just about anything with these.
